Rick Simonds

Rick Simonds guided the Saint Joseph’s men’s basketball program for 23 seasons (1979-92, 1993-03) and posted an astounding 466-176 (.726) record, with 11 conference titles and six national tournament appearances. He garnered 15 coaching accolades and saw nine of his players account for 16 All-America honors during his tenure at St. Joe’s. Simonds, who also served as the Saint Joseph’s Athletic Director for 23 years, guided the Monks to thirteen 20-win seasons and never suffered a losing campaign. At the time of his induction, Simonds’ career winning percentage ranks as the sixth-highest in NCAA DIII Basketball history.
