Margaret O’Brion McDevitt ’82 was one of the first great players to grace the court for the Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball program. A member of two WMAC Championship teams, she is one of just four players in program history to reach the 1,000-rebound plateau and ranks second all-time with 12.3 caroms per contest at the time of her induction. O’Brion improved steadily each season and posted her finest numbers her senior year when she set SJC single-season records with 372 rebounds and 15.5 boards per game. She also averaged 14.9 PPG with 358 points and garnered First Team All-State honors as a senior and grabbed 26 boards in a victory over University of Maine-Farmington on March 3, 1982 - an SJC game record that stands to this day.
