BOSTON, MA - Emerson College (4-2, 3-1 NAC) earned a 13-7 North
Atlantic Conference win over Saint Joseph's (2-7, 0-4) on Sunday

(Hingham, MA) tallied four goals and an assist while the Monks
recorded team records of 61 shots and 40 shots on net in the
loss.
Emerson College got 31 saves from goalkeepr Pat Curran '12
(Framingham, MA) and the Lions killed off 11:30 of penalties
without allowing a score.
Emerson scored first in the contest as Roger Tower '10
(Ttitusville, NJ) took an assist from Axel Larson '09 (Westford,
VT) just 1:49 into the game. The Lions' Jake Frank '09 (Bethany,
CT) then scored the first of his five goals on the day off an
assist from Tower.
Saint Joseph's tied the game at the4:06 mark on an unassisted tally
from Ryan Prescott '09
(Pittsfield, NH). Prescott's goal followed an
unassisted marker from Horgan. Frank answered with
two unassisted goals in the final 25 seconds of the quarter to give
the Lions a 4-2 lead.
Horgan led off the second quarter with a goal 1:33
into the frame, but Tower answered with two scores, the second on
an assist by Alex Miyawaki '10 (San Juan Capistrano, CA). Joe
Greaney rounded out the scoring in the period with an unassisted
goal for the Lions.
Horgan's third goal of the game led off the third
period scoring at the 11 minute mark. Greaney then scored a man
down goal, Frank netted a score off an assist from Greaney, and
Phil Shore '11 (Toms River, NJ) followed with a second man down
goal for the Lions. Horgan scored his final goal of the game to
make the score 10-5 at the end of three periods.
Scores by Tower and Frank extended the lead to 12-5 before
Benson Pasquarello '12
(Kennebunk, ME) and Prescott cut the advantage to
12-7 with 4:07 left. Greaney's third goal of the game sealed the
victory for the Lions.
The Monks outshot Emerson 62-34, and won 13 of 23 face offs in the
game. Saint Joseph's was 0-10 on man-up situations including twice
with two man advantages. Emerson held a 64-52 edge in ground
balls.
Emerson (4-2, 3-1 North Atlantic Conference) will host Husson
College on Wednesday at 6:00pm. St. Joseph's (2-7, 0-4 NAC) hosts
Mount Ida College on Monday at 7:15.
