Eagles Top Monks, 14-3

BANGOR, ME - Husson (1-6) defeated Saint Joseph's (4-4), 14-3, in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. Goalkeeper Christopher Driscoll '13 (Saco, ME) recorded 15 saves in the setback.

Ben Landry (Lewiston, ME) scored six times as the Eagles jumped ahead quickly and stayed ahead to earn the victory. Matt Sweeney (Norwood, MA) and Mitch Heaps (Felton, PA) each had three points with Sweeney netting two and assisting one, while Heaps scored once and set up two of his teammates  to lead the high-flying Eagles.

Husson was strong on the draw, winning 16 of the 21 faceoff opportunities, thanks to the hard work of Dillon Shaw (Augusta, ME) who went 14-4from the dot. John Hooper (Wakefield, RI) was a force in net, saving 16 on the day. Matt Tabler (Catonsville, MD) played well on defense picking up 10 groundballs.

Paul Dolewa (Saco, Me) and Zachary Chaisson (Concord, NH) led St. Joe's with 2 points apiece, both of Dolewa's were assists and Chiasson netted two for the Monks.

Husson will return to the field on Thursday when they travel to New England College with the game scheduled for 6:00 pm. St. Joe's will host Johnson State on Thursday, March 31st at 7:30 PM at Deering Memorial Stadium in Portland, Maine.
