2013 GNAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament Bracket Released

BOSTON, MA - The 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament bracket has been announced.

Saint Joseph's College (7-9, 6-3 GNAC) has earned the #4 seed and will host #5 Emmanuel College (6-9, 4-5 GNAC) in a quarterfinal contest at Westerlea Way Field on Tuesday at 4:00 PM. 

The home conference tournament game will be the Monks' second hosted postseason contest in the six-year history of the Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse program. St. Joe's hosted Becker College and defeated the Hawks by a 10-9 margin a 2011 GNAC Tournament quarterfinal contest at Deering Memorial Stadium on April 26th. The game will be the first-ever postseason men's lacrosse tilt played at Westerlea Way Field. 

The Monks nipped the Saints by a 5-4 margin at Deering Memorial Stadium on March 21st. Senior goalkeeper Christopher Driscoll (Saco, Maine) made 19 saves in net and sophomore attackman Andrew Sullivan (Rochester, N.H.) scored three goals in the thrilling conference triumph.

Finishing with a perfect 9-0 GNAC record, Norwich University earns the #1 seed and will host Anna Maria College (3-6) in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Last year's champions, the Mount Ida College Mustangs, earned the #2 seed with an 8-1 record and will host Rivier University (3-6) in another quarterfinals matchup on Tuesday. Lasell College claimed the #3 seed with a 7-2 GNAC slate and is set to host Becker College (4-5) in the remaining GNAC opening-round contest.

The winner of the 2013 GNAC Men's Lacrosse tournament will earn an automatic qualifying bid into the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse championship tournament.
