Raiders Tip Monks, 13-8

NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier University (8-2, 4-1 GNAC) defeated Saint Joseph's College (5-7, 3-2 GNAC), 13-8, in Great Northeast Athletic men's lacrosse action on Tuesday evening.

For the Monks, Tim Goodfellow (Wayland, Mass.), Tiger Hopkins (Leeds, Maine), and Xavier Michaud (Wales, Maine) tallied two goals apiece and senior keeper Xavier Michaud (Wales, Maine) made eight saves in the setback.

Rivier held the lead in shots (42-30), shots on goal (21-18), ground balls (36-25), and face-off wins (19-4) on the evening.

For the Raiders, Owen McDuffie won 17-of-21 face-off attempts and picked up 12 ground balls and Jeffery Potter netted five goals with five assists. Rivier keeper Sawyer Gagnon made 10 saves and defender Parker Williams picked up six ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Saint Joseph's will host GNAC-rival Norwich University on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
