Paul Murphy was added as an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Saint Joseph's College prior to the 2009 season.

Murphy played high school lacrosse in Watertown, NY and went on to play collegiately at SUNY-Morrisville and SUNY-Brockport. He continues to play club lacrosse.

He came to Maine from upstate New York in 1990 and met SJC Head Coach Mike Edgar in 1991 when they coached the Back Bay Lacrosse Club. In 2006, Murphy returned to the Back Bay Lacrosse Club to coach at the youth level with his sons' teams and continues to coach there today.

Murphy works for the city of Portland as a Police Detective and resides in Portland.
