Men's Swimming Season Preview

STANDISH, ME - The Saint Joseph's Men's Swim team returns three top contributors from a developing 2009 squad and, with several talented newcomers, is expected to continue the squad's rapid improvement as a third-year varsity program this winter.

Second-year Head Coach Rick Horr will look to captains Kevin Towne '12 (Shrewsbury, MA) and Kieran O'Connell '12 (Gloucester, MA) to provide valuable experience and leadership for the young group. Both experienced plenty of success as freshman last season, as the duo combined to set eight individual team records and both swam legs for all three record-making relay teams as rookie swimmers. Eli Ratner '10 (Cape Elizabeth, ME) and Brian Grasser '12 (Groton, CT) also will fill valuable roles for the third-year team.

Freshmen Andrew Marshall (Kittery, ME/St. Thomas Aquinas) and Eric Jaukkuri (Quincy, MA) are both expected to contribute right away.

The men will participate in their first event on Saturday, November 14th in a home meet against Elms College at 12:00 PM.
