Men Fall at Regis, 123-109

WESTON, MA – Saint Joseph's suffered a narrow 123-109 loss at the hands of Regis College in men's swimming action on Friday evening.

Senior captain Thomas Smith (New Hartford, Conn.) won the 200-Free (2:00.98) and 50-Breast (31.35) races and was a close second with a 5:43.87 effort in the 500-Free. Junior Chris Cullity (North Reading, Mass.) won the 500-Free, barely nipping his senior teammate with a 5:43.65 time.

Sophomore Alexander Gilvey (Windham, Maine) also showed well, winning the 50-Back (27.33) and placing second in the 200-Back (2:10.24) and 200-IM (2:13.04) races. Freshman Ben Johnson (Belmont, Mass.) won the 100-Breast (1:07.94) and finished second in the 100-Fly (57.05) and sophomore Preston Bowden (Biddeford, Maine) was the runner-up in the 50-Free (25.17).

Saint Joseph's will host Husson University on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
