Johnson Listed on GNAC Honor Roll

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College men's swimming freshman Ben Johnson (Belmont, Mass.) has collected honor roll mention for his effort in the conference championship last weekend.

Johnson notched nine points in the two-day GNAC Championship at Simmons College. The freshman broke the program-record with a 56.76 time in the 100-Fly - good for a fourth-place finish - and was fifth in the 50-Fly with a 26.12 effort.

The rookie has already broken all three of the Monks' butterfly stroke records with a 2:14.00 effort in the 200, a 56.76 time in the 100 and a 25.68 performance in the 50. The conference honor is the second of his career, as Johnson was selected as the GNAC Men's Swimming Rookie of the Week on November 25th.

The men are off until Saturday, January 18th when the team faces off against Wheaton College and Babson College in a double-dual meet held in Norton, Massachusetts. The event is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
