PORTLAND, ME - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Lacrosse team
played the program's first game on Tuesday afternoon against
in-state opponent University of New England and lost, 22-5. FY
Alyssa Marchant (Wakefield, MA)
scored four goals and FY Sarah
Hale (Berwick, ME) also tallied a goal in the
loss.
Marchant scored the first goal in St. Joe's women's lacrosse
history at the 12:36 mark of the first half to make the score 6-1,
UNE.
Sophomore midfielder Heidi Stucki
(Oakland, ME) collected 6 groundballs and sophomore goalkeeper
Jackie Zaccardo (Reading, MA)
made 4 saves for St. Joe's.
JR Kaitlyn Hall (West Lebanon, NH) and SR Ashley MacDonald
(Billerica, MA) each scored five goals to lead the University of
New England.
St. Joe's will travel to Worcester, MA on Monday 3/24 to play
Becker College. The game begins at 3:30 PM.
