Marchant Tabbed as GNAC Player of the Week

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's senior midfielder Alyssa Marchant (Wakefield, MA) has garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

Marchant broke the Monks' game records with 13 points and 20 draw controls in a season-opening win over Maine-Farmington on Tuesday and netted 14 goals, four assists and 28 draw controls overall in a 2-0 week. The GNAC weekly honor is the second of her career.

Through games played on March 27th, Marchant led all of NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse in goals per game (7.00) and draw controls per game (14.00) and ranked second in points per game (9.00).

Marchant leads the Monks in goals (19), points (23) and draw controls (33) through three games. The senior captain ranks as the program's all-time leader in goals (172), shots (338), ground balls (147) and caused turnovers (43) and currently ranks second in points (199) and draw controls (116).

Saint Joseph's (3-0) will play at GNAC-rival Simmons College on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
