Marchant Becomes First Monk to Reach 200-Goal Mark

STANDISH, ME – Alyssa Marchant '11 (Wakefield, MA) became the first Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse player to reach the 200-goal plateau in a win over St. Joseph (CT) on Wednesday.

Marchant, who reached the mark in the 53rd game of her career, is also just the second Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) player to tally 200 goals. Emerson's Maeghan Ross scored her 200th marker as a junior last spring.

The program's career points and goals leader, Marchant reached the historic landmark in her final home contest and shortly after being honored with a pre-game ceremony as the 2011 team's lone senior player.

The team's first-ever four-year player owns 25 program records, including nine career marks, and has garnered a pair of First Team All-GNAC accolades in her collegiate career.
