Messuri & Diplock Claim All-Tournament Honors

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College juniors Rachelle Messuri (Atkinson, N.H.) and Cassie Diplock (Augusta, Maine) received Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Tournament honors for their play in a pair of tourney contests.

Messuri, a First Team All-Conference defender, tallied 13 ground balls, three caused turnovers and a goal in the Monks' 2013 playoff run. She recorded nine ground balls and two caused turnovers in the program's first-ever playoff victory - a 17-9 quarterfinal triumph over Emmanuel College on April 24th.

Diplock, a two-time First Team All-GNAC honoree, registered eight goals, 10 ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers over two playoff contests. She netted five goals and scooped up nine ground balls to help the Monks defeat the Saints in quarterfinal play.

Saint Joseph's went 11-7 overall and 6-3 in GNAC play under the watch of first-year Head Coach Amanda Cahoon during the 2013 season. As the #4 seed in the GNAC Tournament, the Monks defeated #5 Emmanuel College on April 24th and suffered a season-ending 21-10 setback at the hands of eventual GNAC Champion Lasell College in a tourney semifinal two days later.

The 2013 squad set new program records for victories (11), games played (18), goals (224), assists (73), points (297), shots (519), shots on goal (402), ground balls (595), draw controls (238), caused turnovers (250), free-position goals (33) and saves (172).
