Diplock Claims ECAC Co-Player of the Week Accolades

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College senior midfielder Cassie Diplock (Augusta, Maine) has been selected as the ECAC New England DIII Co-Player of the Week.

Diplock, the GNAC Player of the Week for the reporting period ending April 13th, scored 15 goals with four assists and 19 ground balls in a 2-1 week for the Monks. She capped the week with one of the finest performances of her career, tallying career-highs in goals (7) and ground balls (12) in a 14-11 overtime victory over Rivier University on Sunday afternoon.

The senior currently leads the conference in goals (54), free-position goals (14), shots (138) and shots on goal (108) and ranks second in the conference in ground balls (57) and third in points (61) through 15 games.

Diplock is the third player in the seven-year history of the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse program to collect ECAC weekly honors. Lauren Hagerman '10, the ECAC New England Player of the Week on March 30th, 2010, was the first and Alyssa Marchant '11 was the other to notch the ECAC accolade, earning the honor on March 28th, 2011.

Diplock shares the regional award with Castleton State College junior Kate Auer (South Glen Falls, N.Y.), who tallied 11 goals, three assists, nine ground balls and 31 draw controls in three games for the Spartans last week.

Saint Joseph's (9-6, 8-1 GNAC) will host University of Maine-Farmington tonight in a non-conference contest slated to begin at 7:30 PM at Deering Memorial Stadium.
