Monks Post Undefeated GNAC Record, Earn Tourney’s Top Seed

WINTHROP, Mass. – The 2015 GNAC Women's Lacrosse regular season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, as Saint Joseph's College of Maine finished with an unblemished 9-0 GNAC record to claim the top seed in this week's conference tournament.

Quarterfinal action gets underway on Wednesday, April 22, with the regular-season champion Monks taking on eighth-seeded Rivier University (3-6). Saint Joseph's finished as the 2014 GNAC runner-up after falling to Emmanuel College in the conference championship.

Second-seeded Lasell College (8-1) will host seventh-seeded Norwich University (3-6) at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

In the two other quarterfinal contests on Wednesday, fourth-seeded Emmanuel College (6-3) will host fifth-seeded Mount Ida College (4-5) and sixth-seeded Simmons College (4-5) will travel to third-seeded Johnson & Wales University (7-2). Both contests will get underway at 7:00 p.m.

The semifinals will take place on Friday, April 24, with the GNAC Championship contest slated for Sunday, April 26.
