STANDISH, Maine – The GNAC weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman attack Elyse Caiazzo (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season.

Caiazzo helped the Monks prolong their team-record win streak to 14 games with six goals and five assists to go with five ground balls and seven draw controls in a pair of victories last week. The freshman attack netted three markers versus Regis College on Wednesday and capped the reporting period with three goals and a career-best five assists in an overtime victory over Simmons College on Saturday.

The first-year standout ranks second in the conference in both goals and points and third in the GNAC in shots (103) and shots on goal (88). Caiazzo is also seventh in the league in ground balls and ninth in free-position goals (8) this season.

The top seed in the 2015 GNAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament, Saint Joseph's (14-1, 9-0 GNAC) begins postseason play with a home quarterfinal versus #8 Rivier University on Wednesday.
