GNAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Bracket Announced

WINTHROP, Mass. – With Wednesday evening's win over Norwich University, the Johnson & Wales University (RI) women's lacrosse team now has not lost a Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular-season contest since March 26, 2016.

It wraps up back-to-back seasons with unblemished records in conference play for the Wildcats, who now sit at 14-2 overall record and 10-0 against league foes, en route to the top seed in the GNAC Tournament. They will enter the 2018 campaign having won 27 in a row against conference competition. 

Top seed JWU will open up the tournament against eighth-seeded Rivier University this Saturday, April 28 in the GNAC Quarterfinals. Fourth-seeded Regis (Mass.) will host fifth-seeded Saint Joseph's of Maine Saturday at 3:00 PM, while sixth-seeded Norwich will travel to third-seeded Mount Ida College. The fourth quarterfinal tourney contest will No. 2 seed Lasell College and No. 7 seed Simmons College. 

There is no reseeding throughout the playoffs, so the Rivier/JWU winner will take on the SJC/Regis winner in the GNAC Semifinals on Tuesday, May 1. Also on Tuesday evening will be the winner's of Saturday's Norwich/Mount Ida and Simmons/Lasell matchups.

Game 1: #8 Rivier at #1 Johnson & Wales - 1:00 PM
Game 2: #5 Saint Joseph's Maine at #4 Regis (Mass.) - 3:00 PM
Game 3: #6 Norwich at #3 Mount Ida - 12:30 PM
Game 4: #7 Simmons at #2 Lasell - 12:00 PM

Semifinals - Tuesday, May 1
Game 5: 1/8 winner vs. 4/5 winner - at highest seed
Game 6: 2/7 winner vs. 3/6 winner - at highest seed 

Championship - Saturday, May 5
Game 7: at highest remaining seed
