Dexter Named GNAC Co-Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College grad student Lydia Dexter (Oakland, Maine) has garnered GNAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors for the sixth time this spring.

Dexter tallied 13 goals and eight assists for 21 total points along with 12 ground balls, six draw controls and three caused turnovers to help the Monks remain undefeated in three conference games last week. With an assist early in the second quarter versus Albertus Magnus on Saturday, Dexter broke the GNAC's single-season points record (130, set by Lasell's Britney Wuorio in 2013) and now has 133 points (64 goals, 69 assists) in 16 games this spring.

Dexter, who shares this week's honor with Dean College junior Maire Brown (Huntington, N.Y.), currently leads the conference in points and assists and ranks third in goals and shots on goal and fourth in fourth in ground balls.

Through games played on April 24th, Dexter leads NCAA DIII in points and ranks third in assists and points per game (8.31) and fourth in assists per game (4.31).

Saint Joseph's (16-0, 12-0 GNAC) will close out the regular season on Tuesday with a conference game at Colby-Sawyer College. Opening draw is set for 4:00 PM.
