CASTINE, MAINE - Despite the rain
and fog, senior Danielle McLaughlin (Skowhegan,
ME) scored her first goal of the season in the ninth minute and
sophomore Morgan Meserve (Scarborough, ME) posted
her second shut-out of the season as St. Joe's got past Maine
Maritime 1-0.
A great combination play led to the goal as McLaughlin drove a pass
from first-year Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) off
the left post.
St. Joe's out-shot MMA 7-4 in the first half and carried a 1-0 lead
into half-time. Although St. Joe's managed 11 second half shots to
Maritime's 3, the conditions made it impossible to convert.
Junior Michelle Crisp (Dedham, MA) and first year
player Megan Willette (Waterville, ME) both had
five shots for St. Joe's.
The team travels to Wheelock College in Boston for a 2 PM match on
Sunday, Sept. 18.
