Monks Win After Scoreless First Half

Standish, ME - The Saint Joseph's College women's soccer team used an aggressive second half of play to record a 1-0 win over Southern Maine (0-2) in a non-conference match at St. Joe's. FY Elizabeth Theberge (Danvers, MA) scored the game-winner in the 53rd minute of the season opener.

SJC SO keeper Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) had five saves while JR Mindy Morneault (Winterville, ME) had three for the Huskies in an exciting first half. The teams were not without chances in the first half as a shot by FY Mikayla Call (Portland, ME) just missed after hitting the left post.
