STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has
announced that Saint Joseph's freshman Katherine
Chambers (Hampden, ME) has collected Women's
Soccer Rookie of the Week honors.
Chambers netted the game-winner in
the 74th minute in the Monks' comeback triumph over Emerson College
on Sunday, October 4th. The goal capped a come-from-behind victory
- St. Joe's trailed 1-0 until the 44th minute of play - in a match
featuring the last two unbeaten teams in conference play.
Chambers has played in all eight games for the
Monks this season, with five starts and two goals. The game-winning
tally over Emerson was the first of her career.
Saint Joseph's, 5-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in GNAC play, will play at
Husson on Wednesday at 3:00 PM before hosting conference rival
Norwich University this Saturday at 1:00 PM.
