Jordan & Lorenzen Honored by Conference

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's College women's soccer players have earned awards.

Junior forward Kim Jordan (Bangor, Maine) has claimed GNAC Player of the Week accolades and senior Jaci Lorenzen (Windham, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week.

Jordan registered two goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for Saint Joseph's. The junior forward netted her first goal of the year in a 3-1 win over University of Saint Joseph on Saturday and tallied a goal and an assist in a victory over University of Maine-Presque Isle on Sunday.

Lorenzen was excellent in a pair of wins over the weekend, as the senior netminder made 10 saves while surrendering one goal over 180 minutes between the pipes. She made six saves in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday and added four stops in a 6-0 win over the Owls on Sunday.

As of October 1st, Jordan ranks second on the team in assists (3) and third in total points (7). In 40 career contests, Jordan – a two-sport athlete and starting third baseman for the Monks' softball team – has recorded nine goals, 10 assists and 28 points with a pair of game-winning markers. The weekly conference honor is the first of her career.

Lorenzen, a four-year starter, is in the midst of her finest season and has allowed only four goals in just over 817 minutes in net for the Royal Blue. She currently leads the GNAC in goals against average (0.44), save percentage (.889) and shutouts (6). In 60 career games, Lorenzen owns a 1.13 goals against average with an .812 save percentage and 24 shutouts over 5,573 minutes between the posts.

For Lorenzen, a two-time All-GNAC honoree, the weekly goalkeeping honor is the second of her career and first since September 13th, 2010.

Saint Joseph's will play at Anna Maria College on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
