Women's Soccer Class of 2021 Announced

Women's Soccer Class of 2021 Announced

STANDISH, Maine – Head Coach Jenelle Harris is pleased to announce the women's soccer Class of 2021.

Coach Harris, who is about to begin her fifth season on the SJC sideline, expects the incoming class provide an immediate impact while infusing athleticism, talent, and depth to a roster that lost just one player – departed senior Desiree Parent – from a team that went 10-7-3 overall and 6-2-3 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play a year ago.

"We are very excited about this incoming class," adds Harris. "They are a talented, athletic group and will challenge our returners and make an impact for our program. Along with our returners, this group will contribute to our program's philosophy of accountability, competitive fire, and commitment on and off the field and will assist with our continued success."

As the #4 seed in the 2016 GNAC Tournament, the Monks defeated #5 Simmons College, 3-1, in a conference quarterfinal, a victory that counted as the program's first postseason triumph since the 2009 campaign, and saw the 2016 campaign come to a close with a semifinal loss at the hands of eventual GNAC Champion Lasell College on November 2nd.

The 2017 season kicks off Friday, September 1st when the Monks travel to University of New England for a 7:00 PM non-conference match. The team's home-opener – on the College's brand new turf field – will be played at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 3rd.
