ON THIS DATE: Lorenzen Named GNAC Goalkeeper & ECAC Defensive Player of the Week

On October 21st, 2013 Saint Joseph's College senior goalkeeper Jaci Lorenzen (Windham, Maine) was named as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) NCAA DIII New England Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this fall. Lorenzen also claimed Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week accolades earlier in the week.

Lorenzen made five saves in a 6-1 victory over Rivier University and followed up with a 28-save performance in a 1-0 double-overtime triumph over Simmons College. Her saves tally in the thrilling victory shattered the program's single-game saves mark (20), a record set by Cheryl Northrup '05, who made 20 stops in a 6-0 loss to Endicott College on October 19th, 2002.

As of October 24th, Lorenzen led the conference in minutes (1416:42) and victories (14) and ranked second in the league in goals against average (0.70), shutouts (8) and save percentage (.891).
