Grogan Named to the United Soccer Coaches Academic All-Region 2nd Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - United Soccer Coaches has announced the association's 2021 Men's and Women's Scholar All-Region and All-America Teams for NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA and Saint Joseph's College senior goalkeeper Adia Grogan (Kennebunk, Maine) has earned Second Team All-East Region honors.

Grogan, a Chemistry major, is a two-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Academic honoree and has been listed on the Dean's List following each of her seven semesters at Saint Joseph's.

To be eligible for Scholar All-Region recognition, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:

  • 3.40 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
  • Started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contribute to their team
  • Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution
  • Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school

Grogan, a two-time GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year honoree, posted a 1.08 goals against average and a .878 save percentage with 18 goals allowed and 130 saves in 1,505 minutes this fall. The three-year starter led the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in games (20) and minutes and ranked second in the league in saves, save percentage, and shutouts.

In three years between the posts at Saint Joseph's, the two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region recipient accumulated a 40-15-3 record with 15 shutouts to go with a 1.06 goals against average and an .854 save percentage over 59 career games. She leaves the program ranked third in victories, fourth in saves (351), fifth in goals against average, and sixth in save percentage, shutouts, games, and minutes (5,076),

In 2021, ninth-year Head Coach Jenelle Harris guided the Monks to a 12-8-0 overall record with an 11-3-0 mark in conference play en route to securing the #3 seed in the GNAC Tournament. St. Joe's blanked Elms College, 2-0, in a conference quarterfinal at the SJC Athletics Complex on September 30th but saw the season end with a 2-0 setback at the hands of #2 Lasell University three days later.
