Former SJC Soccer Standout Comtois Earns Boston / New England Emmy® Award

STANDISH, Maine – Former Saint Joseph's College women's soccer standout Sarah Comtois '18, a Broadcast Director at NEWS CENTER Maine, received an Emmy Award at the 45th Annual Boston/ New England Emmy® Awards ceremony, which was held at the historic Wang Theatre in Boston on Saturday, June 4th.

Comtois, who is now in her fifth year at NEWS Center Maine, is the recipient of the 2022 Most Outstanding Director Live or Recorded Live Emmy® Award. Her award-winning video submission, titled "Technical Director Composite," is a 15-minute set of clips showing the complicated 'behind the scenes' work she does on a daily basis in the station's control room during news broadcasts. A New Media Communications major with a minor in Journalism at Saint Joseph's, Comtois was a four-year starting midfielder and two-year captain for the Monks' women's soccer program. The two-time All-Conference honoree and 2017 NEWISA Senior Bowl Game participant was also an outstanding student who earned three GNAC All-Academic awards and a pair of CoSIDA Academic All-District nods while being listed on the Dean's List following all eight semesters at St. Joe's.
