PSU Softball posts back-to-back shutouts over Saint Joseph's

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State University softball pitchers Kim Jeffs (Stoughton, Mass.) and Rose Eaton (Concord, N.H.) tossed consecutive shutouts Wednesday afternoon to lead the Panthers to a non-conference sweep of Saint Joseph's College, 8-0 and 2-0, at D&M Park.

Jeffs spun a perfect game in the opener, which was shortened to five innings due to the eight-run rule. She struck out 10 batters for her second no-hitter in less than a week. Eaton allowed only two singles in the nightcap while striking out eight.

For St. Joe's, freshman Deb Drown (Gorham, Maine) and junior Leanne Morton (Gorham, Maine) had singles in the second game for the Monks.

Saint Joseph's, 6-13 overall, returns home to host Husson Friday at 5:00 p.m.
