KANSAS CITY, Mo. - St. Joseph's College (Maine) sophomore pitcher/second baseman Gabrielle Burrola (Gallup, N.M.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player of the Week for the week ending 3/18/07.
On the week, Burrola earned a pair of wins on the mound, including a 6-2 victory over Skidmore by striking out seven and giving up eight hits. In an 8-0 win over Eastern Nazarene, she fanned seven in the no-hitter. Burrola also led the team with 12 hits (.387) and had three doubles and five runs batted in.
She is coached by Jamie Smyth.
