STANDISH, ME - The 2008-2009 GNAC Softball Playoff pairings are now available. The Saint Joseph's College Lady Monks (18-6; 26-10) secured a second place finish with a 6-0 closing weekend, beating Mount Ida, Lasell and Albertus Magnus in doubleheaders.
Emerson College Lions earned the first
seed with a 21-3 GNAC record and 29-7 record overall. The Lions
clinched first place in the conference by going 6-0 in the final
weekend of conference play beating Lasell, Albertus Magnus and
Saint Joseph (CT) in doubleheaders.
The first round of playoffs will take place on Tuesday, April 21st
with #5 Norwich hosting #8 Simmons at 4:00PM and #6 Lasell hosting
#7 Rivier at 4:30PM. The quarterfinals will take place on Friday,
April 24th at #1 Emerson and #2 Saint Joseph's (Maine). Semifinals
will take place on Saturday, April 25th at Lasell College and the
championship will be on Sunday, April 26th Mount Ida. Emerson will
host both the semifinals and finals.
