STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's sophomore Emily
Leverone (Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet) has been named
as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Softball Player of the
Week for the second consecutive week and third time overall this
season.
Leverone batted .682 (15-22) with a 1.273 slugging percentage in an
8-0 week for the Lady Monks. The first-year player scored 15 runs
with 15 RBI and collected eight doubles, a triple and a home run
during the reporting period. Leverone broke the SJC single-season
records for doubles, home runs and hits over the weekend.
Leverone leads the Royal Blue in virtually every offensive category
through 36 games. The first-year player is hitting .586 (68-116)
with 39 runs, 44 RBI, 17 doubles, seven home runs and five triples
for the 26-10 Lady Monks. She has had at least one hit in 32 games
and notched multiple hits in 25 contests.
As the #2 seed, Saint Joseph's, 18-6 in GNAC play this spring, will
host a conference quarterfinal game, opponent TBD, at Ward Park on
Friday at 4:00 PM.
