STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College softball players Alyssa Dunn '11 (Standish, ME), Emily Leverone '12 (Hampton, NH) and Connie Grovo '14 (Limington, ME) collected NCAA DIII Providence Regional All-Tournament honors for their efforts during the Monks' impressive tourney run.

Dunn, the Monks' first baseman, hit .539 (7-13) with four runs, four RBI, a double and two home runs in four tournament games for St. Joe's. The 2011 Second Team All-GNAC selection capped her senior season hitting .384 (58-151) with 28 runs, 11 doubles, six home runs and 34 RBI and did not make an error in 325 chances at first base.

Leverone hit .200 (2-10) with two runs, two doubles and two RBI and made several highlight-reel quality catches in center field during the tournament for St. Joe's. She closed out her junior campaign hitting .444 (67-151) with 42 runs, 19 doubles, 11 home runs and 59 RBI while playing a flawless center field.

Grovo manned second base for the Monks during four tourney tilts and hit .267 (4-15) with two doubles and an RBI. She played elite defense at the cornerstone position and did not commit a miscue in 19 fielding opportunities. Grovo hit .364 (56-154) with 38 runs, 11 doubles, three home runs and 32 RBI and added 17 sacrifice bunts during her first collegiate campaign.

In 2011, Saint Joseph's (37-10, 21-3 GNAC) won the program's first GNAC Championship in four seasons as a member of the conference and advanced to the NCAA DIII Softball Tournament for the first time in program history with the GNAC automatic qualifier. The Monks defeated #3 Endicott and #2 Coast Guard before falling to #1 Eastern Connecticut, the eventual regional champion, and #4 Rhode Island College in the double-elimination tournament.
