Softball Moves up to Fourth in Latest NEISCA Regional Poll

STANDISH, ME – The third New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association (NEISCA) weekly poll has been released and Saint Joseph's (22-4, 15-1 GNAC) is ranked fourth in the region.

The Monks have made a steady rise in the regional poll this spring as St. Joe's was ranked ninth on March 26th, moved up to #7 last week, and now sit in the fourth slot behind Tufts University, Eastern Connecticut State University and Amherst College.

St. Joe's won all eight games last week, recording doubleheader sweeps over Suffolk University, Southern Maine, Emmanuel College and Johnson & Wales University. The Monks have now won 13 consecutive games and 22 of the last 23 contests. The team's last loss came at the hands of Emerson College, ranked sixth in this week's poll, on March 30th.

Saint Joseph's will play at Rivier College in a GNAC twinbill on Friday starting at 4:00 PM.
