Lyndon State Edges St. Joe's in OT

Lint and Farrell Record Double Doubles in Loss

Lyndonville, VT - Lyndon State outscored St. Joe's 10-6 in overtime to record an 80-76 victory last night. Despite strong performances by sophomores Marie Lint (Orono, ME) with 19 points and 10 boards, and Megan Farrell (Abington, MA) with 12 points and 11 boards, the Monks were plagued by foul trouble which include foul outs by senior Brittany Rauscher (Oakland, ME) and Farrell.

Rauscher finished with a team high 22 points, but left the game at a critical time late in the second half. Junior captain Kaylin Regula (Windham, ME) picked up 2 early fouls and added a third to limit her effectiveness in the first half, but mangaged 13 points.

Sophomore Ashton Coutu (Danville, VT) came off the bench in her home state, grabbed 7 boards and helped with some difficult defensive match-ups.

The Hornets were led by Alicia Shedd with 23 points and Nicole Arel who turned in a strong performance at point with 26 points and 6 assists.

Saint Joseph's College hosts teams from Briarcliffe College (NY), Albany College of Pharmacy (NY) and College of St. Joseph (VT) for its second annual Merry Monk Tournament this weekend. St. Joe's plays first on Saturday, December 3, at 3:00 PM against College of Saint Joseph (VT) and Briarcliffe takes on Albany Pharmacy at 5:00 PM in the tournament. The consolation and championship games will take place on Sunday, December 4, at 12 and 2 PM respectively.
