Anderson, Howe, Hurley & Stapelfeld Claim CSC Academic All-District® Honors

STANDISH, Maine – Four student-athletes – Hailey Anderson (Beverly, Mass.), Nina Howe (York, Maine), Angelica Hurley (Groveland, Mass.), and Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) from the Saint Joseph's College women's basketball program have been selected to the College Sports Communicators' 2023-24 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams, as announced by the organization Tuesday.

Anderson, a senior guard and Biology/Pre-Physician's Assistant major, has earned CSC Academic All-District® honors for the second-consecutive season. The two-year team captain and two-time GNAC All-Academic honoree averaged 5.1 points during her senior season and was a key player for the Monks during their GNAC Championship run.

Howe, a senior point guard and Nursing major, claims CSC Academic All-District® accolades for the first time after tallying 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game last winter. The two-year captain has twice garnered GNAC All-Academic honors and represented the Monks on the 2024 GNAC All-Tournament Team

Hurley, a senior guard and two-year team captain, claims CSC Academic All-District® honors for the second consecutive season and continues to add to her bevy of postseason accolades. The four-year starter earned First Team All-Conference, Second Team MWBCA All-State, and GNAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors and was selected to play in the 2024 NEWBA Senior All-Star game following an outstanding senior season during which she averaged 14.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per contest.

Stapelfeld, a sophomore guard and Accounting major at Saint Joseph's, secures the first CSC Academic All-District® honor of her career after averaging 9.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists as a second-year starter.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16, 2024.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
