Freeman Named to MWBCA, GNAC Honor Roll

STANDISH, ME - The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association named SO Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) and FY Erin Cartwright (Acton, MA) to their weekly Honor Roll on 1/14 for their play during the previous week. Freeman was also named to the GNAC weekly Honor Roll.

In a 2-1 week for St. Joe's, Freeman averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 assists per game. The sophomore guard leads the team through 12 games in points (14.2 PPG), rebounds (7.5 RPG) and free throw shooting percentage (78%). As of 1/6, Freeman was ranked 9th in NCAA Division III with 3.0 three-pointers made per game.

Cartwright averaged 9.7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game during the 2-1 week that featured the women's first conference win over Saint Joseph College (CT) on 1/12 in the team's first ever GNAC game. For the season the freshman point guard is averaging 6.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. She has also had a hot hand from beyond the arc lately as she's made 5 of 8 trey attempts in the last four games.
