STANDISH, ME - Freshman guard Erin Cartwright
(Acton, MA) has been named the GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of
the Week for her play in two contests last week. Cartwright
averaged 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0
blocked shots per game during the 1-1 week for St. Joe's.
The Acton-Boxborough High School graduate has started 22 games for
St. Joe's this season and ranks third on the team in assists (2.1
apg), fourth in steals (1.0 spg) and sixth in scoring (6.2
ppg).
Cartwright was named to the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches
Association Weekly Honor Roll on January 14th after posting a
season-best 14 points in a win over Newbury College during the
reporting week. The freshman has reached double-digit point totals
in five games this season.
The Saint Joseph's College Women's Basketball team is currently
15-8 overall and 10-4 in GNAC play and will host conference
opponent Rivier College on Saturday, February 23rd in the team's
final regular season contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
