STANDISH, ME - The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches
Association has announced its weekly honors, and Saint Joseph's
freshman center Ashley Geel (St.
George, ME) has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll for the fifth
time this year.
Geel posted a double-double effort with 13 points
and 10 rebounds in a quarterfinal loss to Emmanuel on February
24th. The rookie center added three blocked shots and three assists
to her stat line in the losing effort.
Geel capped her rookie season averaging 8.0 points
and 5.0 boards per game, with both ranking as the third-best totals
on the team. Her 1.7 blocked shots per contest led the Lady Monks
and ranked second in Maine as well as fourth in the GNAC.
