St. Joe's - Mount Ida Contest Forfeited by Mustangs

STANDISH, ME - The women's basketball game versus Mount Ida College, scheduled to be played at the Harold Alfond Center on February 20th, has been cancelled. Saint Joseph's will be credited with a conference-forfeit victory, as Mount Ida's campaign prematurely came to a close earlier this month.

For the women's basketball team, the game against Mount Ida was to be the final regular-season home contest of the season, and the final regular-season home game for seniors Allison Miner (Pembroke, NH), Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME/McAuley) and Meghan Daigle. With this change in schedule, the senior trio will be honored prior to the men's game, which has been moved up to 1:00 PM, on the same date.

Also, the Mount Ida contest was designated as the Monks' annual "Pink Zone" game, which is a Women's Basketball Coaches Association initiative for breast cancer awareness. As a result of the cancellation, the men's game on the same date will sponsor the cause and all gate proceeds from the contest will be donated to the charity.
