STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's senior center Ashley Geel (St. George, Maine) has been listed on the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly honor roll.
Geel averaged 14.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocked shots in a 2-1 week for the Monks. She registered 20 points, eight caroms and four dimes in a loss to NESCAC opponent Bates College on Tuesday and added a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, as well as five rejections, in a win over Suffolk on Saturday.
The three-year starter currently leads the team in scoring (11.3 PPG), rebounding (7.5 RPG) and blocked shots (31). For her career Geel averages 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and ranks as the Monks' all-time leader in blocks (186) and blocks per game (1.9) through 96 contests. She also ranks 10th in team history in rebounds (617).
Saint Joseph's (14-6, 8-0 GNAC) will play at Anna Maria College (5-15, 1-7 GNAC) on Saturday in a conference contest slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
