Cahill Earns Pair of Top Rookie Accolades

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College freshman Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) has claimed Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Rookie of the Week accolades.

Cahill enjoyed a solid week, averaging 9.5 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 57.1% (8-14) in two games for the Monks. She notched her second double-double in as many games with 12 points and 13 caroms in a 58-52 victory over University of Maine-Farmington on Tuesday and produced seven points and nine boards in a loss to Southern Maine on Sunday.

Through three games, Cahill is averaging 10.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52.4% (11-21) from the field. She is the first SJC player to garner GNAC and MWBCA weekly top-rookie honors in the same week since Saint Joseph's joined the conference in 2007.

Saint Joseph's (2-1) will play at Husson University on Thursday night at 5:30 PM.
