STANDISH, ME - The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly honors have been announced and two Saint Joseph's College players have received accolades.

Freshman center Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) has been chosen as the MWBCA Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this winter and senior guard Danyelle Shufelt (Sutton, Vt.) is listed on the MWBCA Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive reporting period.

Cahill averaged 14.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 45.9% (17-37) from the floor in a 2-1 week for the Monks. The freshman center capped the week by recording her seventh double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds in a 73-46 victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday.

Shufelt registered a team-high 16.0 PPG average last week and shot 45.7% (16-35) from the field and 38.9% (7-18) from three-point range during three conference contests. The senior co-captain began the week by scoring 20 off a 6-8 effort from the floor in a triumph over Simmons College last Tuesday.

Through 17 contests, Cahill paces the Royal Blue in rebounding (8.3 RPG) and blocked shots (35) and ranks second on the team in scoring (12.1 PPG). Shufelt currently leads Saint Joseph's in scoring (12.8 PPG, three-pointers made (22), free throws made (62) and free-throw percentage (.849) and also ranks second on the squad in both assists (44) and steals (33).

Saint Joseph's (10-7, 4-2 GNAC) plays at Mount Ida College tonight in a conference contest slated to start at 6:00 PM.
