STANDISH, ME – Women's basketball weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College sophomore Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) has earned a trio of honors.

The standout center has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week and has also been listed on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly honor rolls for her play in a single game last week.

Cahill led the Monks to their first win over Colby College in over eight years with 24 points and 14 rebounds versus the Mules on Thursday night. The sophomore center was 8-18 from the floor and 8-11 from the free throw line with a pair of blocks in the 67-63 victory at Colby. Her rebound total in the victory is a new career-high while her offensive output tied a career-best.

Through seven games, Cahill is averaging 15.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game with 21 blocked shots while shooting 47.7% (41-86) from the floor and 64.4% (29-45) from the free throw line. She leads the GNAC in blocks and currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring, seventh in free throws made and ninth in field goal percentage.

For Cahill, the 2013 GNAC and MWBCA Rookie of the Year, the conference player of the week honor is the first of her career. She was chosen as the GNAC Rookie of the Week on seven occasions during her freshman season.

Saint Joseph's (5-2) will host Framingham State University at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
