MWBCA Tabs Cahill as Co-Player of the Week

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College sophomore center Morgan Cahill (Yarmouth, Maine) has been selected as the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) Co-Player of the Week.

Cahill averaged 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a 1-1 week for Saint Joseph's. The second-year starter netted 18 points in both of the Monks' contests while shooting 53.3% (16-30) from the floor in the two conference contests.

The sophomore post player currently leads the team in scoring (14.6 PPG), rebounding (7.7 RPG), blocked shots (43), field goals made (128) and free throws made (65). The MBCWA Player of the Week honor is a career-first for Cahill, who shares the accolade with Colby College sophomore guard Carylanne Wolfington (Hallowell, Maine), who averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest last week.

Cahill, the 2013 GNAC and MWBCA Rookie of the Year, also collected Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honor roll mention for her play during the two games.

Saint Joseph's (17-5, 7-1 GNAC) hosts conference-rival Suffolk University this Saturday at 1:00 PM.
