Southeastern Topples Saint Joseph's, 82-40

LAKELAND, Fla. – Southeastern University (12-0) toppled Saint Joseph's College (7-2), 82-40, in a non-conference women's basketball contest on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After one quarter, Saint Joseph's held a 14-12 lead over Southeastern, ranked 20th in the most recent NAIA DII National Poll, but the Monks would fall victim to poor ball security, as the Fire netted 30 points off 34 SJC turnovers, in the loss.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Sophomore guard Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) led the Monks with 13 points and added three rebounds and two assists
  • Sophomore guard Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) added 11 points and was 3-6 from three-point distance
  • Sophomore guard Julia Champagne (Brunswick, Maine) chipped in with eight rebounds and six assists

LEADERS – SOUTHEASTERN:

  • Bailey Hooker scored a game-high 17 points
  • Christi Strawbridge tallied 15 points, four boards, and three assists
  • Ana Richter contributed eight points, nine rebounds, six assists, and 12 steals

Saint Joseph's returns to New England for a non-conference home contest versus Regis College in a 6:00 PM start on Thursday.
