Stapelfeld Earns Fourth MWBCA Rookie of the Week Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman guard Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) has been tabbed as the MWBCA Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this winter.

Stapelfeld averaged 15.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 17-35 (48.6) from the field, 38.5% (5-13) from downtown, and 87.5% (7-8) from the FT line in a 2-1 week for Saint Joseph's. The freshman guard netted a career-high 20 points and was 4-for-6 from three-point land in a win at Colby-Sawyer College on Monday.

In 24 games – including 18 starts – this season, Stapelfeld is averaging 10.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while shooting 48.4% (89-184) from the floor, 35.9% (23-64) from three-point land, and 82.6% (38-46) from the charity stripe. She ranks second on the team in FG%, FT%, and field goals made, third in scoring average, steals average (1.3), and points.

Saint Joseph's will close out the regular season on Saturday with a 1:00 PM GNAC home game versus Elms College.
