Standish, ME - The Lady Monks
struggled to create scoring opportunities, but lost to Endicott
College, 2-0. St. Joe's (0-5) was out shot 25-3. Endicott junior
Lindsay Fallon (Southhampton, NY) scored the first goal of the game
at 31:50.
St. Joe's had a chance to even things up in the first half, but
Endicott keeper senior Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH) made a great save
on a perfectly executed SJC corner. The Gulls (5-3) added to the
lead in the second half as sophomore Ashley Meunier (Hartland, VT)
connected on a penalty stroke at 42:00.
Sophomore Darcy Ward (Dresden, ME) had two of St.
Joe's three shots while junior Monique Crawford
(Peru, ME) had the other one.
Juniors Kristine Benere (Ayer, MA) and
Michelle Cusack (Portland, ME) turned in strong
performances for St. Joe's. Sophomore keeper Mandy
Gosselin (Lebanon, ME) had 12 saves.
The team returns to action on Wednesday, September 28th for a 4 PM
game against Thomas College here at home.
