Standish, ME - The Monks scored a goal in each half en route to
a 2-0 win over Simmons College on Saturday. St. Joe's improves to
5-3 and the Sharks drop to 1-5. FY keeper Colleen
Grant (Bourne, MA) registered a shut-out in her first
intercollegiate contest.
With just over two minutes remaining in the first half, JR
Kara Squillante (Boothbay, ME) put St. Joe's up
1-0 off a pass from SO Jillian Kimball (Albany
Township, ME).
St. Joe's kept the momentum going into the second half as they
peppered Simmons keeper Cammy Keiler with nine shots. Senior
Darcey Ward (Dresden, ME) connected off a pass
from SO Jessica Baker (Scarborough, ME) to extend
the lead to 2-0 at 46:29.
The Monks host Lasell College on Thursday, September 27th at 4 PM.
