Field Hockey Takes Hard-Fought Loss to UNE

Standish, ME - The Saint Joseph's College field hockey squad's win streak was halted at three in a row today by a 1-0 loss to the University of New England (1-2). Senior captain Amy Williams (Bridgewater, NH) recorded the game-winner for the Nor'easters.

The Monks (3-1) held a 13-6 advantage in shots while both teams had eight penalty corners. Williams scooped a shot past SJC keeper FY Kathleen Simoes (Wakefield, MA) off a penalty corner at 24:18.

SR keeper Tanya Callan (Brick, NJ) turned in a tremendous effort making eight saves for the Nor'easters while Simoes finished with three for St. Joe's.

The Monks next play host to the Husson College Eagles on Saturday, September 15th at 1:00 PM.
