STANDISH, ME - The North Atlantic Conference has announced its
weekly awards and Saint Joseph's forward Amanda
Sebastiao '12 (Uxbridge, MA) is the NAC Field
Hockey Rookie of the Week.
Sebastiao scored the game-winning goal in Saint Joseph's thrilling
4-2 come-from-behind victory over Castleton on October 5th. The
first-year player has scored three goals for the Lady Monks this
season, which is the third-highest total on the team.
Sebastiao is the second SJC rookie, and third player overall, to
receive conference honors. Sarah
Bartell '12 (Exeter, NH) was named Rookie of the
Week September 22nd and Julia
Ostrowski '10 (Albany, NY) was the recipient of
the NAC Player of the Week award on September 9th.
Saint Joseph's (6-2, 2-1 NAC) will travel to Gorham, ME on
Wednesday to square off against in-state rival University of
Southern Maine (4-5, 2-2 LEC). The game is scheduled to start at
3:30 PM.
